5 SUCCESSFUL TEEN ENTREPRENEURS

‘Age is just a number. It does not define what one can and can’t do.’

Teenagers today have taken this seriously and are changing the game of entrepreneurship. They are bold, fearless and problem solvers. With the advent of technology and the internet, these young minds can satiate the curiosity of their mind easily. They are coming up with mind-boggling ideas and unique business models to tackle the problems of today’s world.

Here are 5 budding teen entrepreneurs who are turning heads everywhere they go-

Radhika Joshi, founder of ‘The Second Chance’ project.

Everyone deserves a second chance when they make a mistake. Everyone deserves a second chance at life too. Radhika lost a loved one due to kidney failure. This was the beginning of ‘The Second Chance’ project that works to create awareness about organ donation. She put her creative energy into street plays, workshops, etc. through which she and her team have created a lot of awareness.

She understood this grave issue at a very young age and decided to actively tackle it. It is now her life’s mission to spread the importance of organ donation.

Tilak Mehta, founder of Paper n Parcels.

How many times have you left something at a friend’s house and realized that you urgently need it after coming home? The same thing happened with Tilak. He left his textbooks at a relative’s home across the city and on returning home realized that he needed it. There was absolutely no way he could get it. This was his ‘eureka’ moment. He started a local courier service called ‘Paper n Parcels’ in Mumbai. He also decided to collaborate with the Mumbai dabbawalas so that food could be parcelled.

This shows us how there is an opportunity lurking everywhere. One just needs to grab it.

Harshita Jain, founder of Necessiteas.

Do you know what ‘bubble tea’ is? I didn’t either until I stumbled across ‘Necessiteas’, a start-up founded by Harshita Jain who just wanted a good bubble tea. Bubble tea is a popular Taiwanese drink made with milk, tea, fruit juices, and tapioca pearls cooked with brown sugar. The main attraction of this drink is the brown, sticky pearls which are chewy and made with tapioca starch. This drink is not very popular here in India and is a little hard to find. This drove Harshita to make it herself and then start selling it.

Satyam Mehta, founder at ‘Rural Invest’ and ‘Junkguards’.

70% of India is made up of rural regions and their populations. So naturally, we assume that there will be more focus on developing these areas. Alas, no. Satyam Mehta wanted to create a positive impact on society. This led him to discover the 2 most prevalent problems in rural India- waste management and financial illiteracy. These problems needed solutions.

Being a problem solver at heart, he launched an app called ‘Rural Invest’ that provides wealth management solutions digitally.

Another brainchild of Satyam Mehta is ‘Junkguards’, a waste management system aimed at reducing environmental harm.

  • Akhilendra Sahu, founder at ASTNT Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

Digital marketing is a booming field. Every small to large business needs to have a digital marketing plan if they want to survive in the industry. Akhilendra saw an opportunity here and started his company, ASTNT Technologies. They provide a wide variety of services such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), website development, social media, and digital marketing, etc. He even ranked as the number 1 web designer in Madhya Pradesh, India.

These 5 entrepreneurs are just a few of the young entrepreneurs we see around us. If we carefully observe, there is one common thing among all of them. They have the ability to see and grab opportunities that many of us may overlook. Some other qualities they possess are a problem-solving attitude, dedication, and a hunger to learn and become better. They truly are inspirations to all aspiring entrepreneurs in the world.
