How To Apply Makeup For A Night Out

With the pandemic starting to settle down bit by bit, more in person events will begin to take place which means more parties, work dinners, family gatherings and such. If you’re new to the makeup scene and you’re going to attend a party, maybe you have no idea how to even start applying your makeup and that’s okay because we will go through the steps to apply makeup for a party.

The face

First cleanse your face by washing it and removing any dirt or oils that may have gathered throughout the day. You can use a cleanser or just wash your face with water if you don’t have a cleanser and dry your face. Remove any existing makeup thoroughly as well.

Then apply moisturizer to your face to restore the oils produced naturally by your body so it will prevent your face from becoming flaky. The moisturizer should suit your skin type to avoid clogging pores because this will lead to acne formation.

Apply primer next. Not everyone will use primer, but it just helps maintain your makeup and make it last longer if you’re going out for a long time. Blend in a few drops with your fingers or a sponge evenly onto your face. If you decide to use primer, let it settle on your face a little before moving onto foundation.

Foundation is commonly used but you have to find the right one for your skin type and colour to make sure it blends well. Apply some foundation onto your neck as well so that the look just blends well together into one. After foundation, use concealer to conceal any dark circles or spots and blend it with your finger.

Then use some power to set your makeup and apply it gently to your face. After powder, apply bronzer to your forehead, below your cheekbone and near your jawline (although not everyone will use this) but it adds dimensions and nice contours to your face. You can also add some blush to your cheekbones to add a bit of colour to your face.

Eyes

Next, we should focus on your eyes. Apply eye shadow and pick a colour depending on your outfit or whatever works for you. Make sure to practice and blend well. Then, add eyeliner. You can use pencil liner if you’re a beginner or liquid liner depending on whatever you’re comfortable with.

Afterwards, add a bit of mascara to make your eye lashes pop out. There are different brands such as Eye of Horus makeup that helps add volume or lengthen your lashes.

Lips

Next, move to your lips. You can add a lip liner (a pencil or liner) to stop your lipstick from going past your lips and then apply lipstick with a colour of your choice. Lipstick adds a final touch to your look by adding a spot of colour to help you stand out.

You can also add setting spray in the very end once you have completed your makeup look to make it last longer. Makeup can help individuals feel more confident when they go out and remember to have fun safely.
