Working from home can save you a lot of energy and money usually spent on commuting, but it also has some bad aspects.

Working from home is usually a sitting job and if you don’t move regularly, you may have some health problems in the future. In this article, we bring you some advice on how to work from home and stay healthy.

Communicate With Colleagues

If you are a freelancer normally working from home, you won’t notice the absence of your team. But, if you are used to working with people, you may feel bad being home alone. To feel better, keep regular communication with your colleagues. There are several apps where you can have group chats or video calls, so use them during work time. Also, keep in touch with other people and plan interaction with your friends or other people to stay mentally healthy. Human interaction via video calls isn’t enough, try to have live interaction and don’t hold your problems for you, but ask for a second opinion.

Make Schedule

Having a schedule will help you keep your old habits and make you feel better about your workday. Be gentle to yourself and know your abilities. Be sure that you know your limits and distinguish time for work and your personal life. Try to have a special space where you will keep your work computer and don’t use it after work time.

Have Often Breaks

The positive aspect of working from home is that you can often have a break and refresh your thoughts. Take more short breaks when you rest your eyes and stretch your backs. Make a quick walk in your apartment or grab something to drink. Also, you can look through the window and rest for a few minutes. Try not to use a mobile phone in those breaks to energize yourself for further activities.

Try To Work Out

Working out, if you are mostly sitting during the day, will help you feel better and prevent future health problems. You can find different types of exercises on the internet and follow them. Also, you can take a long walk and stretch regularly. You don’t need to work out every day but try to do it at least twice a week. Work out according to your abilities and be sure that you warm-up and stretch well to avoid injuries. Also, help yourself by having an ergonomic chair where you can keep the right posture. 

Eat Healthily

Following a healthy diet is very important for all your functions and future health. Many apps can count your calories and help you eat healthily. Always try to choose healthier options and don’t eat during work. Set three or four meals per day and take the time to eat them properly. if you grab something to eat during work, you won`t have control over it and can do it too much. Be sure what you eat and how much you eat, so never use your working desk as a dining table.

Drink A Lot Of Water

You should drink a lot of water to keep your body healthy, especially if you work in a heated office. Proper hydration is important to keep you awake and focused. Yet, always try to choose the water instead of sugary juices. It will help your skin to glow and your immune system to work properly. If you always want to have clean and fresh water in your office and near you that will help you drink it enough, you can choose a water dispenser.
