move around is ideal for you, since you have made the electric scooter your inseparable companion.

However, you will not always be able to take your hoverboard with you; Some forms of public transport have restrictions that prohibit you from taking it on board.

Before traveling it is good that you inform yourself well so as not to have a bad time when boarding.

Today we want to talk to you about the means of public transport and your hoverboard. We will see how you can and should take your small vehicle when you travel by plane, train, metro and bus.

Can I travel by plane with my hoverboard?

In general, airlines do not allow the hoverboard to be carried as carry-on luggage, and it cannot be checked in either. This means of transport only allows you to travel with chairs or electric tricycles used by people with reduced mobility.

The IATA (International Air Transport Association) issued a regulation that prohibits the transport of lithium-ion batteries in passenger aircraft. The only way to transport vehicles that use this type of battery is in cargo planes and under very strict conditions.

Passengers can only carry devices such as mobile phones, e-books and laptops in hand luggage, never in checked bags. In addition, they must be shown at security checks.

And is that the lithium batteries of personal mobility vehicles, such as an electric hoverboard, for example, have a great capacity to store energy; if they overheat, they can burn and they can also produce vapors that could cause an explosion.

If you add to this that the aircraft fire suppression systems cannot control a fire caused by an incident with lithium batteries, it is to be expected that it is not allowed to carry the electric scooter on the plane.

Therefore, if you are going to travel by air, you have to send your electric scooter by post; they will manage your transport in a cargo plane accredited for the transport of dangerous goods.
