Indians are becoming more and more grateful for the opportunity to work, travel, and live overseas. One nation that beckons them with the best promises that always deliver to the UAE. However, there is an additional task of having the certificates attested for Indian citizens who produce their documents in the Emirates. This enables the host nation to determine whether they are genuine. The following activities inside the nation require document attestation: continuing higher education, obtaining a family residency visa, beginning local professional work, enrolling your child in school, and importing or exporting commodities into the nation are the primary ones. The Indian Embassy or Consulate must essentially certify all of your academic, professional, commercial, non-educational, and personal documents for the UAE government to accept them. Following that, MOFA attestation is required. Only with these things in your possession is it possible to obtain a UAE visa.
WHY IS ATTESTATION REQUIRED?
For a variety of reasons, including work visas, student visas, resident visas, or professional considerations, we require certificate attestation for UAE visas. It is unquestionably a component of reassurance that you are a sincere individual or corporation visiting the UAE with no malice in mind. It demonstrates that your documents are legitimate and support your entry into the country.
Whether it is a birth, marriage, or death certificate, an educational credential, or any other personal or corporate document that comes from India, it must first be authenticated to be used in the UAE. Indian document attestation in UAE requires several standards that must be met, and they differ depending on the type of document and the authority that it must be given. The standard set of procedures is outlined below.
INITIAL CERTIFICATION
The majority of Indian documents must first undergo certification. Usually, a notary Public validates the original document through this process. In contrast to other nations, it is more typical for an original document to be processed than a certified copy. Verification of some documents may be necessary from another government agency. However, since the source document is not in English and consequently requires translation, this procedure step is typically not required in the case of government-issued documents like birth, marriage, or death certificates.
PRE-LEGALISATION
Before being submitted to the Ministry of External Affairs, the majority of documents in India must first be legalized by the Home Department. A judge, magistrate, or registrar verifies the authenticity of the seal (on documents issued by the government) or the signature of the person who certified the document at this stage.
MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS IN INDIA
The document can be forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs for legalization once the Home Department has legalized it. At this point, the Ministry is making sure the Home Department stamps were properly applied.
UAE EMBASSY IN INDIA
The document must next be authenticated or stamped, in India by the UAE Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulate in Mumbai. At this point, the paper is sealed and given an official sticker from the UAE government. This demonstrates to the UAE authorities that the document has successfully passed all the necessary procedures in India.
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS – UAE
When the document reaches the UAE, it needs to receive a second attestation stamp from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, proving that the Indian processing of the document was correct. Once this stamp has been placed on the document, you can use it in the UAE if the document does not need a final Arabic translation.
TRANSLATION
In some cases, it may also be necessary to translate your document into Arabic. If necessary, an accredited professional translator from English to Arabic translates the entire document, along with any pertinent stamps. When the translation is finished, all the necessary steps will have been taken to ensure that it can be used in the UAE.
TYPES OF DOCUMENTS ATTESTED
The UAE Embassy in India certifies three different types of documents.
- Educational Documents
- Non-Educational Documents
- Commercial Documents.
Every type of document has a unique attestation procedure. Here is a quick guide for UAE attestation.
EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTS
- The document needs to be pre-authenticated by the appropriate state HRD.
- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will confirm the document after pre-authentication.
- The document will then be certified by the UAE Embassy.
NON-EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTS
- Documents must have prior state Home Department authentication.
- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will attest the document after pre-authentication.
- The document will then be certified by the UAE Embassy.
COMMERCIAL DOCUMENTS
- The document will be first attested by the Chamber of Commerce.
- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will certify the document following attestation by the Chamber of Commerce.
- The document will then be certified by the UAE Embassy.
The process of document attestation must be completed in accordance with the type of document. The complete process of document verification, whether it is for personal or professional purposes, is well-known by the attestation service providers. They make it easier and more efficient to finish the attestation process on schedule. The MEA and embassies have approved and acknowledged the attestation service providers to offer this procedure to the general public. The agency must receive all certifications and documentation in their original form; duplicate copies will not be accepted. This process can be finished by a document attestation service provider in 8 to 10 working days.
